Effective
September 15, 2021
The health and wellness of COIL Yoga’s clients, instructors and our broader community is of the utmost concern. As yoga instructors, we strive to prevent harm to others by creating a safe space without unnecessary risks for the greater good of our human family. As of the first week of August 2021, Fresno County’s transmission rate for COVID-19 has climbed and is now considered “high” by the Centers for Disease Control. Please read the following updated policies carefully.
vaccination requirements
Vaccination Status Requirements for Indoor and Outdoor Classes
Effective September 15, 2021, COIL Yoga will require the following to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 – all yoga instructors leading any in-person classes, workshops, trainings or special events; and all clients who attend indoor in-person classes, workshops, trainings, or special events.
Proof of full vaccination is required prior to the start of the first in-person class (e.g., showing vaccination card). Fully vaccinated means at least two weeks have passed since your last shot (one shot in a single dose vaccine or the second dose in a two-dose series vaccine). Employees of COIL Yoga may request an exemption from the vaccination requirement for disability or sincerely held religious beliefs, subject to required documentation. You can find vaccination sites in the Fresno County area here. If you would like more information regarding the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccination options, you can find that information as follows: (a) CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Information; (b) California State Vaccine Safety Information; and (c) California DPH COVID-19 Vaccine Facts. Vaccination is central to an appropriate response to this public health crisis.
Accommodations for Unvaccinated Clients: Clients who cannot vaccinate against COVID-19 due to disability or sincerely held religious beliefs, or those that choose not to vaccinate, may participate in outdoor in-person classes if they: (1) disclose to COIL Yoga that they are unvaccinated in advance; and (2) physical distance during class (6 feet or more). Unvaccinated students may also participate remotely with our pre-recorded and streaming classes.
policies
In addition, COIL Yoga will be implementing the following requirements to ensure a safe class environment:
- Waiver: All attendees must sign a voluntary participation waiver including notice of risks of COVID-19.
Everyone will need to re-sign our updated 2021 waiver to participate in online and in person classes for COIL Yoga. This can’t be done in the Mindbody App but only in consumer mode via our website www.coilyoga.com using your username and password. You will then go to your “CLIENT INFO” tab, then click on the “ADDITIONAL INFORMATION” and read the new waiver and recheck the box. Or download the waiver here.
- No Illness or Possible COVID-19: Regardless of vaccination status, no one may attend class if they are sick, if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19 within the 10 calendar days prior to the class session.
- Self-Screenings Required: All in-person class attendees are required to self-screen in advance of coming to class for symptoms of COVID-19 and may not attend if any symptoms are present, including, but not limited to: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
- Hand Washing: All attendees and instructors must wash their hands with soap and water or apply hand sanitizer immediately before coming to class.
- Ventilation & Disinfection: Outdoor sessions will be made available, weather and air quality permitting. Indoor sessions will maximize ventilation to the extent possible, and indoor facilities will be disinfected in between class sessions.
- Masking & Physical Distancing: As of January 15, 2022 masks are optional. Students are still encouraged to maintain a distance of six feet or more from other attendees who do not live in the same home, in alignment with current public health guidance, as it may change from time to time.
We hope this policy will reassure our community regarding the safety of our in-person classes. Individuals with questions regarding this policy may reach out via email at kflinn@coilyoga.com. This policy will be applied in alignment with public health guidance and legal requirements, and may be updated from time to time.
