ReStructure and ReAlign with Kristin
Saturday | April 29   Sharon
4:00 - 7:00 pm
$60 per student

In this workshop we will explore a small part of the bigger universe of biomechanics, as experienced through proper body mechanics. We will take a look at how we are in our foundations; how we stand, how we sit, our daily movement habits and even how we approach some of our stretching. We will adjust some long held habits that may not be serving our long term health goals as we work with some bio-mechanical exercises and stretches to support the necessary shifts. This work will be intertwined within a general Therapeutic style yoga class. The workshop will conclude with a relaxing restorative yoga sequence and a warm lymphatic oil massage technique for deep rejuvenation.

Bring a notebook and take some notes! Bringing this work home with you and launching into more supportive daily movement patterns may be that missing ingredient to better health and longevity.

This workshop is open to all levels.

Please try to pre-register two days prior to start date, class size is limited.

Awakening the Chakras - Muladhara, the Root Chakra with Sharon
Sunday | July 9   Sharon
12:00 - 1:30 pm
$25 per student

The Chakra System is like an ancient map that details the location of the seven main energy centers located in the energetic layer of our body. From the base of the spine up to the crown of the head, each of the Chakras can energize and influence a different region of our body or aspect of our life.  And while a Chakra imbalance can manifest in physical, emotional or energetic discomfort, by gaining an awareness of our Chakra system, we can balance these energy centers resulting in a sense of equilibrium between body, mind and spirit.

In this workshop, we will explore the first Chakra—Muladhara (from the Sanskrit words “Mula” meaning the Root and “Adhara” meaning the Support). Located at the base of the spine, Muladhara is the Chakra that defines our basic needs such as security and a sense of safety on the Earth. When energy flows freely through the first chakra, we feel safe, confident and fearless, however, when Muladhara energy is blocked, we can experience a sense of feeling ungrounded and anxious and may manifest as low back pain.

So how can we balance our root Chakra?  Yoga is one of the most effective tools to awaken and navigate our Chakras and we will use it in this workshop along with other practices to bring harmony to our first Chakra.

  • brief discussion of Muladhara
  • dynamic vinyasa yoga flow*
  • breath work
  • mudra
  • music/sound therapy
  • aroma therapy
  • restorative poses to end the practice

*modifications given for all levels.

I hope you’ll join me for this workshop as we awaken and balance Muladhara!

This practice is open to all levels.

Please try to pre-register two days prior to start date, class size is limited.
